Web-based Mindfulness Groups for Autistic adults and their Family Members

What is this project about?

We have been researching how to support Autistic adults and their caregivers (parents/siblings). As part of this research, we are holding free, web-based mindfulness groups for Autistic adults and caregivers to help them cope.

How did we go about doing this research?

Participants will be able to join the group virtually using their home computer or a telephone line that connects them with the group facilitators and other Autistic adults/caregivers.

The groups will run for six weeks. Below are the upcoming groups:

Caregivers (parents and siblings) & Autistic adults (Thursdays)
Dates - May 7, 14, 21, 28, June 4 & 11
Time - 2:00 - 3:00pm (Eastern Standard Time)
Flyer - Download here

Autistic Adults (Thursdays)
Dates - May 7, 14, 21, 28, June 4 & 11
Time - 3:00 - 4:00pm (Eastern Standard Time)
Flyer - Download here

Who can be involved?

Autistic adults (age 18 years and older) and/or caregivers of Autistic adults living in Canada.

What will we do with our research findings?

We hope this research will help us better understand how to support Autistic adults and caregivers. We also hope to see if we can do this virtually using web-based technology to support families across Canada.

What is the next step?

We are currently recruiting Autistic adults and caregivers for this study.
